Nohga Hotel Kiyomizu sits in a prime spot; you’re only a 10 to 15-minute walk from the iconic Kiyomizu-dera Temple, which is a total game-changer if you want to get there early and beat the heavy tourist crowds.

A Quick Reality Check
One thing to keep in mind is the location. While Nohga Hotel Kiyomizu it’s peaceful and incredibly close to Kiyomizu-dera, it is a bit of a walk to the main Gion and Kawaramachi shopping hubs.
Personally, I’m a big walker and I had no problem walking back and forth to Gion—I actually found the stroll quite charming!
However, if you have any mobility difficulties, are traveling with small children, or simply don’t want to exhaust yourself, don’t worry.
You can easily jump on a local bus or call a taxi via an app (like GO or Uber) to get to the city center in just a few minutes.
